This program builds participants’ understanding of leadership as opposed to management. It instills in participants the confidence and conviction essential to create and drive shared vision, values and goals, to command respect, to influence, and to exercise authority and power, in a way that motivates others to willingly follow.
The program equips participants to be ‘impactful’ - to make things happen, but in a way that is sensitive to the culture of the organization. Participants are introduced to the prevailing climate in which they must lead, to the styles, qualities, principles and strategies for constructive team leadership, which cultivates a culture of participation.
Participants learn how effective, collaborative team structures, differ from other management structures. They learn how to build collaboration within the team, optimizing the collective intelligence of team members. Participants learn how to gain concensus about, and commitment to, team decisions. Learning also includes complex decision making, creating and building organizational confidence as well as knowing when and how to risk and having the political savvy to use power and influence prudently.
